Every Bellefontaine City Council incumbent held onto their respective seats in Tuesday’s general election, according to unofficial vote totals from the Logan County Board of Elections.
Each Republic Party candidate faced opposition this year, a rarity for the panel.
Council President Zeb Wagner out paced Democrat Victor Geib, 1,325-458.
In the council at-large races, Kyle Springs received 1,219 votes; Deb Baker, 1,091; and Jenna James, 1,050. Mark Cooper led the Democrat challengers with 587 votes followed by Ray Swisher with 511 and Kimberly Araki, 367.
In Ward 1, Richard Kurtz held his spot over Democrat Katelyn Roby, 303-151. Ward 2 went to Jordan Reser 614-157 over Democrat W. Carol Adkins.
Ward 3 was a race between two write-in candidates with incumbent Peter DeSomma receiving 31 votes to Dan Branson’s 22.
Mick Lile held onto the Ward 4 seat with 277 votes to Democrat Preston Rogan’s 107.
The only uncontested city seat was Treasurer Mark Fissel spot. He received 1,355 complementary votes.
