The Logan County Mayor’s Association voted unanimously at their Wednesday meeting virtual meeting to host the 2020 Logan County Beggar’s Night from 3 to 5 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 31.
Members said conducting Beggar’s Night on a Saturday enables more parents to be home with their children, and hosting the event during daylight hours provides a safer environment for participating youths.
Also at the meeting, the group heard updates, reports, and current topics from County Commissioner Paul Benedetti, Sheriff Randy Dodds, County Engineer Scott Coleman, Chamber of Commerce President Ben Vollrath, County Health District Donna Peachey and LUC Planning Commission President Brad Bodenmiller, including the following:
• Logan County Sheriff’s Office staff will return to a full staff by the end of the month;
• 2020 U.S. Census update;
• current coronavirus active cases update, 32 active cases, according to the Logan County Health District Health District;
• Cares Act reimbursement status (federal dollars); and
• Economic Development Strategic Plan update.
The next meeting is 6:30 p.m. Oct. 21, which will likely take place virtually via Zoom.
