Barbara Bee Magann Ramsey, 82 of Mt. Victory, went to be with her Lord on Wednesday, Aug. 1, 2018, at Memorial Gables of Marysville.
Barbara was born May 27, 1936, in Kenton to the late Clyde and Herva Strickland Magann. On Nov. 14, 1954, she married her high school sweetheart, the late James “Jim” Harold Ramsey in the Ridgeway United Methodist Church and together they enjoyed 60 years of marriage before Jim went to be with the Lord in December 2014.
A devoted and beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Barbara enjoyed loving and serving her family of three children, 19 grandchildren, and 18 great-grandchildren with number 19 on the way.
Barbara’s family includes son, Dan (Jane) Ramsey of Mt. Victory having 3 children — Pam (J.D.) Howard with children Halle and Mason, Katie (Josh) Benson with children Jonah and Jameson and Grant (Kara) Ramsey with children Kaelyn and Rhett; son, the late Tim (Tonya) Ramsey of Mt Victory having 3 children — Travis (Darcy) Ramsey with children Lola and Anna, Troy (Jennifer) Ramsey with children Devan and Kelsey and Tyler (Danielle) Ramsey; daughter, Laurie (Brad) Manns of Ridgeway having 4 children — Brock (Amy) Manns with children Connor, Dawson, Ella, Foster and Emma, Bethanie (Craig) Overly with children Aubrie, Trenton and Trace, Holden (Cortney) Manns expecting in October, and Melissa Manns.

Preceding her in death were parents, Clyde and Herva Magann; husband, James Ramsey; son, Tim Ramsey; sister, Judy Carles; brother-in-law, Charles Ramsey; and nephew, Tracy Ramsey.
Barbara was a woman of many gifts and talents, taking to heart the scripture’s Proverbs 31 woman. Graduating from Ridgeway High School in 1954, she held the distinction of valedictorian of her class.
Upon graduation, she worked as secretary of the Ridgeway Elementary and High School for a few years. Accepting Jesus Christ as her savior at a young age, Barbara kept a servant’s heart all throughout her life. She was a life-long member of Ridgeway United Methodist Church, where she served in many offices throughout her 50-plus years of attending and serving the church. Barbara’s hands were rarely still. She was an excellent seamstress, homemaker and farmwife, making the most of every opportunity to give of her time, skills and talents to whomever would ask her help or have need of them. This love of sewing, baking and serving people led her to start a small antique, craft, and bakery shop business in the ’80s in an historic home in Mt. Victory, known as Park Place.
Barbara was a member of Ridgeway United Methodist Women, Eastern Star, Silver Star Circle of Ridgeway and the Hardin County Farm Bureau. She gave over 30 years of service as a 4-H advisor and enjoyed volunteering her time to help the local community food pantry, God’s Lifeline of Mt. Victory.
Barbara treasured her family foremost, serving her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, and serving the community and her church family.
She enjoyed her farm life with Jim and the family. She traveled with her husband to many places in the United States and Canada.
She enjoyed life, enjoyed each and every person she met, and everything in it, always giving thanks to God for her many blessings. To say she will be missed is quite the understatement. For to know Barbara Bee Ramsey, was to love her.
