Terrance T. Cooper, 33, of 128 1/2 W. Williams Ave., was arrested Saturday after a 1:55 a.m. reported fight outside the Beer Vault, 149 W. Columbus Ave.
He was charged with four counts of assault, disorderly conduct, resisting arrest, persistent disorderly conduct, assault on a peace officer and intimidation of an officer.
According to officers of the Bellefontaine Police Department, he struggled as officers were handcuffing him and attempted to strike an officer with his elbow.
The suspect also spat on an officer and was placed in leg restraints after he began kicking at a door and window from the inside of a cruiser.
While en route to the Logan County Jail, he threatened to harm the officer and his family.
He continued to resist authorities and yell threats at the officer inside the jail.
Witnesses and staff at the Beer Vault report the suspect repeatedly grabbed the buttocks of female patrons and then repeatedly spat on staff as they forced him out of the bar.
Motorist charged with OVI
Andrew W. McKellop, 36, of 618 W. Columbus Ave., was charged Sunday with operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs. He was cited for speeding and reckless operation.
An officer on patrol in the 700 block of west Sandusky Avenue observed him traveling westbound at 82 mph. He was stopped near the Bellefontaine Regional Airport, 3100 W. State Route 47.
The officer detected an odor of alcohol while talking with McKellop and noted his speech was slurred and he had watery, glassy, bloodshot eyes. He admitted to drinking too much to be driving and declined to perform field sobriety tests. He did submit breathalyzer samples and recorded a 0.177 level.
