Derrick J. McKee, 30, of Piqua, was charged with resisting arrest, persistent disorderly conduct and two counts of aggravated menacing related to an incident Saturday evening at Froggy’s at the Lake, 11065 T.R. 293, Lakeview.
Deputies of the Logan County Sheriff’s Office assigned to a security detail at the establishment received a report about 10 p.m. regarding a man, later identified as McKee, who was highly intoxicated.
While speaking with McKee, deputies asked him to point out where his friends or family were so that he could be escorted from the bar. However, he was not able to locate anyone who knew him and was placed under arrest for public intoxication.
Deputies said the defendant actively resisted efforts to remove him from the bar.He also made threats toward deputies and shouted obscenities while he was being escorted to the patrol car.
He reportedly continued to resist efforts of being restrained while he was being placed in the patrol car, and other deputies arrived to assist. He was transported to the Logan County Jail. However, upon arriving at the jail, deputies said McKee was found to have a fever, so he was transported to Mary Rutan Hospital.
• Mitchell J. Rohrs, 25, of Alger, was charged with aggravated menacing, persistent disorderly conduct, resisting arrest and failing to disclose personal information as a result of an incident early Sunday morning at Froggy’s at the Lake.
Deputies working a security detail at the bar were informed several times throughout the evening regarding Rohrs engaging in heated arguments. He was ejected from the premises about 12:30 a.m.
While outside of the bar, deputies said Rohrs began making threats against another patron. He was placed under arrest and he began actively resisting deputies’ efforts to restrain him. He also berated deputies and shouted obscenities as he was escorted to the patrol car. An Ohio State Highway Patrol trooper also responded to the scene to assist.
Rohrs also refused to provide his personal identifying information at the time of his arrest. He was transported to the jail.
• Austin W. Slife, 25, of St. Marys, was charged with persistent disorderly conduct and resisting arrest as a result of an incident Friday evening at Froggy’s at the Lake.
Jarrett M. Taylor, 26, of St. Marys, also was issued a summons for trespassing and obstructing official business.
Deputies received a report about 9:55 p.m. regarding a heated verbal exchange between patrons, which soon turned into a physical fight.
Slife was placed under arrest after deputies cleared the fight. A friend of Slife, Taylor, began to approach deputies and reportedly didn’t listen to commands when he was instructed to stay back and not come any closer.
Taylor reportedly continued to argue with deputies after he was informed that he and his party were ejected from the premises. He was also issued the trespassing charge at that time.
An Ohio Department of Natural Resources officer and Ohio Division of Watercraft officer also responded to the scene to assist.
Slife was transported to the jail.
Teen issued summons for theft
Koleton I. Carpenter, 18, of North Baltimore, was issued a summons for theft Friday related to an incident Thursday at Winners Market, 13840 N. State Route 235, Lakeview.
Deputies responded to the business in reference to a theft. They reported that two young male suspects had just left the store with two cases of beer and failed to pay for the items.
Deputies received a vehicle description and license plate number and the vehicle was registered to Carpenter’s mother. Deputies spoke with her, and she told them her son had been driving the vehicle. She agreed to bring him to the sheriff’s office Friday.
Carpenter told deputies that he and another individual had taken the beer from the store. He said he only knew the other individual’s first name. The defendant told deputies he was willing to make full restitution for the items that were taken.
He was issued the summons and investigation continues.
