Avis Snapp Nicholas, 88, went to be with the Lord on Feb. 4, 2016, in Sarasota, Fla.
She was born July 2, 1927, to the late Roy and Myrle Idle Snapp. She also was preceded in death by her husband, Robert K. Nicholas; an infant child; an infant sister; brothers, Howard and Dwight Snapp; and brother-in-law, Thomas Hayes Jr.
She is survived by sons, Martin and Hal Nicholas, and grandson Robert Nicholas, all of Florida; brothers, Richard (Evelyn), Emerson (Sheila), Wilbur (India Ann, Dale (Dorothy) and Ron (Judy) Snapp; sisters, Wilda Hayes and Donna Voorhies; two sisters-in-law, Patricia Snapp and Madeline Snapp; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Avis graduated from Huntsville High School in 1945 and attended college in Elkhart, Ind., to become a lab technician. She worked at St. Rita’s, Lima Memorial and OSU hospitals.
Avis was a kind, gentle soul and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
