A standalone auxiliary gymnasium is nearly funded entirely by donation, West Liberty-Salem school board members learned Tuesday in a regular meeting.
About $450,000 of the estimated $900,000 necessary to construct a field house adjacent to the high school football field has been raised, the board was told.
The school board has scheduled a special Nov. 7 work session meeting to discuss the field house, and begin organizing logistics for how it’s to be constructed and furnished.
Funds to build the fieldhouse are being raised through donations by the West Liberty Athletic Association. No General Fund dollars are being used on the building.
