Blake K. Greiwe, 19, of 13185 County Road 74, Quincy, was charged with operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs related to an all-terrain vehicle crash early Sunday morning.
Deputies of the Logan County Sheriff’s Office responded about 12:30 a.m. to the area of county roads 73 and 34 near Quincy on a report of a single-vehicle ATV crash.
Upon arrival, deputies located an ATV in the roadway and a man laying on the ground beside it. A woman reportedly was helping to apply pressure to a wound on the side of his head.
Deputies said the man, identified as Greiwe, was alert and able to answer their questions. He also reportedly had a strong odor of alcohol on his person and when questioned, he told deputies that he had consumed alcohol prior to operating the ATV.
EMS personnel arrived on the scene and began treating the defendant, who later refused transported to the hospital.
Deputies determined Greiwe had been operating the ATV on C.R. 73 when he drove to the right side of the road and the ATV overturned, throwing him from the vehicle.
He reportedly refused to submit to field sobriety tests and also refused to take a breath test. He also was issued citations for operating an ATV on the roadway and failure to control and was released to a relative.
• Ashley M. Miller, 29, of 137 Clermont Ave., Russells Point, was charged with OVI related to a traffic stop Saturday evening.
Deputies received a report of a possible drunk driver about 10:15 p.m. in the Huntsville area regarding a silver jeep, and the eastbound vehicle was located a short time later along U.S. Route 33 near Zanesfield.
Deputies said the operator of the jeep was wearing within its lane of travel and at one point slowed to 45 mph in a 70 mph zone, and then quickly accelerated to approximately 90 mph.
A traffic stop was initiated and deputies identified the driver as Miller. Deputies observed that her eyes were glassy and she said she had consumed one beer, but around noon that day.
Field sobriety tests were administered and she was placed under arrest and transported to the Logan County Jail. She submitted to a chemical breath test, with a result of 0.151 blood alcohol content.
A family member picked up two children who were in the vehicle with Miller. She also was cited for speed and a charge of endangering children has been forwarded to the Bellefontaine Municipal Court for review.
Man charged with menacing
Aarik B. Rollins, 22, of 10584 County Road 153, East Liberty, issued a summons for menacing Friday.
Deputies responded about 5:50 p.m. to a Middleburg address and spoke to a 25-year-old man, who said Rollins had threatened to harm him.
Deputies reviewed audio messages from the defendant and issued the summons.
Driver cited in C.R. 55 crash
Roxie L. Cronkleton, 34, of East Liberty, was checked at the scene of a crash Saturday morning by Tri-Valley EMS, but she did not report any injuries.
She reportedly was operating a northbound GMC Yukon on County Road 55 about 9:25 a.m. and attempted to pull into a driveway at 3071 C.R. 55.
The driver put the vehicle in reverse and struck a stop sign at the intersection of County Road 10. She continued across the intersection and struck a C.R. 55 road sign, before coming to rest in a ditch.
Damage was light to the vehicle and the driver was cited for failure to control.
