Indian Lake Schools students were treated to special concerts and inspirational music this week just prior to their Thanksgiving break.
The band Attaboy performed two separate concerts for Indian Lake High School students and later Indian Lake Middle School students in the high school auditorium Monday. With songs like “Fire,” “Never Going Back” and “Waking Up,” Attaboy had the students on their feet singing along and buying into their positive vibe.
Lead vocalist Ryan Payne talked to the students about his own struggles with anxiety and knowing that it’s OK to reach out for help. He also echoed the R-Factor lessons of E+R=O that Indian Lake staff members have been emphasizing for many years.
Payne asked, “When you face the struggles, the difficulties in life, whatever they are, you’ve got to respond. Are you gonna let those struggles drag you down or are you gonna let them drag you forward to become the best version of yourself?”
Attaboy did not disappoint with their mix of original songs and other popular hits. They got the students excited with a student and teacher dance-off, plus a lip sync battle.
The school assemblies were sponsored by the ILHS SADD Chapter and the Lighthouse of Indian Lake.
Monday evening, Attaboy also performed an additional free concert with more of their original songs tonight in the ILHS Auditorium.
