Deputies were dispatched about 11:25 p.m. Monday to the area of the Belle Center bar, 103 W. Main St., Belle Center, on a report of a fight between two men.
When they arrived, they spoke with a man standing by the sidewalk who had bloody lips, blood on his left ear and a swollen left cheek. The man had a strong odor of alcohol on his breath, and told deputies he had been in a fight with another named male suspect.
The pair reportedly had fought at a Hardin County residence. The second subject told deputies that the other man had stolen his truck and drove it from Hardin County to the Belle Center bar.
At the bar, the first subject said he was struck several times. The second subject had bloodied knuckles, deputies said. A report has been forwarded to the Bellefontaine Municipal Court for a review of charges.
Driver transported after vehicle strikes tree
Justice L. Lemaster, 20, of Urbana, was transported by Macochee EMS to Mary Rutan Hospital for treatment of minor injuries sustained in a crash Monday on County Road 1.
Deputies of the Logan County Sheriff’s Office report she was operating a southbound sport utility vehicle in the 2600 block of C.R. 1 at 8 p.m. when she drove off the side of the road, struck a hill and went airborne. After her vehicle landed, the SUV struck a tree. Damage was heavy to the SUV, which was towed from the scene.
The driver was wearing her seat belt and was cited for failure to control. The crash report states she was distracted by something inside the vehicle at the time of the crash.
• Mark A. Kibler, 34, of Rushsylvania, was cited for failure to control following a non-injury crash Monday afternoon on State Route 273.
He reportedly was operating a westbound pickup near Township Road 110 about 12:30 p.m. when he drove off the right side of the road and struck a ditch and then a field.
Deputies stated the driver was fatigued or falling asleep at the time of the crash.
The driver was wearing his seat belt. No damage was reported to the pickup.
• Jazzlynn N. Goings, 18, of Lewistown, was cited for failure to control as a result of a non-injury crash Saturday evening on U.S. Route 33 near U.S. Route 68.
Deputies report she was operating a westbound car about 10 p.m. when she lost control and drove off the right side of the road, striking an embankment and a rock and coming to rest back on U.S. 33. Damage was moderate to the car and the driver was wearing her seat belt.
