Logan County native Forest Clayton completed the American Cancer Society’s Pan Ohio Hope Ride July 27 through 30, in which 374 bicyclists traversed the state, beginning in Cincinnati, traveling to Columbus and ending in Cleveland.
Clayton completed the bike ride in honor of his mother, the late Barbara Clayton, who worked as a Riverside Schools teacher, and passed away following a battle with colon cancer, reported his grandmother, Althea Clayton.
Now a resident of Cleveland, Clayton is a Riverside High School graduate and a Bowling Green State University graduate who works as a dean of engagement and student support at the Cleveland Metropolitan School District.
Teams participating in the ride raised a total of $850,059 for the cause, according to www.acsevents.org.
