The Logan County Court of Common Pleas Adult Recovery Court recently celebrated the achievements of two of its graduates during a graduation ceremony hosted earlier this month.
Judge Kevin P. Braig said the graduates, Cody Watt and Stephanie McClain, successfully completed the program while also accomplishing personal milestones in their own lives.
“Cody and Stephanie are role models for recovery,” Judge Braig said. “Their performance in ARC was outstanding.
“In addition to completing the recovery program while in ARC, Cody became a first-time homeowner and Stephanie took on additional responsibilities at her employer.
“All of us are super proud of them.”
Both Watt and McClain are taking online peer support training and plan to assist others in recovering from addiction.
The Adult Recovery Court works within the framework of the traditional Logan County Common Pleas Court.
The ARC’s mission is to achieve specific, rehabilitative objectives. The objectives of the ARC are to monitor treatment of ARC participants, encourage and incentivize ARC participants to achieve rehabilitation and personal accountability, and decrease criminal activity and the need for incarceration.
Participants in the ARC receive the support of Judge Braig, Treatment Coordinator and Program Manager Annette Deao, Compliance Officer Jim Pleasant, and treatment providers from TCN Behavioral Services, Community Health Wellness, the Justice Reinvestment Grant, local attorney Peter DeSomma, and others.
All of the ARC Team members share the goals of: empowering ARC participants through treatment, accountability, and responsibility; assisting ARC participants in achieving recovery from addiction; and helping ARC participants lead useful and productive lives.
Judge Braig and the Logan County Court of Common Pleas ARC Team “congratulates Cody and Stephanie on this accomplishment and looks forward to seeing them live their best lives,” officials said in a release.
