Anthony Edward Hannah, Sr., 60, of Bellefontaine passed away at 4:47 p.m. on Tuesday, July 27, 2021 in The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, Columbus.
He was born in Toledo, Ohio on May 15, 1961, the son of the late Andrew Lee Hannah Sr. and Vivian L. Hughes.
He is survived by his four children; Latasha Hannah, Anthony E. Hannah Jr., both of Bellefontaine, Christopher M. Hannah of Dayton, and Adam (Monica) Hannah of Delaware, OH, seven grandchildren; Eric Butler, Christian Stephens, N-Kye Stephens, Brooklyn Nevels, Hazel Hannah, Phoenix Nevels and Hunter Hannah, his former wife and best friend, Sarah Hannah of Bellefontaine, his longtime friend Vernita Harris, two sisters; Loretta Hannah and Casandra Watson, three brothers; Andy Hannah, Marvin Hannah and Perry Hannah, and a host of nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Joyce Hannah.
Tony worked for Abbott Tool & Die in Toledo before moving to Bellefontaine. He enjoyed fishing, listening to music, and cooking, especially fried chicken, and BBQ. He loved giving to his grandchildren, while still being the disciplinarian of the family. He knew his Heavenly Father and prayed every day. He enjoyed all sports including football, basketball and boxing and liked to play cards. He appreciated watching movies, and liked comedies, Kung Fu, and Westerns the best.
The family wishes to give special thanks to his prayer brothers, whom he prayed and talked with every day.
Pastor Settle W. Townsend, Jr. will officiate a memorial service on Saturday, August 7, at 4 p.m. at Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 321 N. Main St., Bellefontaine, Ohio 43311. Visitation will be two hours prior to the service at the funeral home.
