Anna E. Pinter, 83, of West Liberty, passed away Friday, Feb. 5, 2016, in Mercy Memorial Hospital, Urbana.
She was born Feb. 26, 1932, in Budapest, Hungary, a daughter of the late Istvan and Anna Kanya Gal.
On Aug. 11, 1951, she married John A. Pinter in Budapest and he preceded her in death in 2004. She also was preceded in death by her two brothers and their wives, Istvan and Emmy Gal and Ference and Erzsi Gal.
She is survived by a daughter, Eva (Jack) Albert of Bellefontaine; a son, John G. (Marsha) Pinter of Park City, Utah; two grandchildren, Jennifer (Jason) Sipes of Salt Lake City, Utah, and John M. Pinter of Park City, Utah; three great-grandchildren, Hayleigh and Xavier Bagnoud and Willem Sipes, all of Salt Lake City, Utah; and two nephews, Peter Gal and Laszlo (Piroska) Gal, both of Budapest, Hungary.
Anna was a parishioner of St. Mary Catholic Church, Urbana, and she enjoyed cooking, baking and crocheting. In years past, she enjoyed gardening and always had a green thumb.
Father Larry Gearhart celebrates a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. Monday, Feb. 15, in St. Mary Catholic Church, 231 Washington Ave., Urbana. Calling hours are from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 14, at the Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home, 101 Zanesfield Road, West Liberty. Burial is in Fairview Cemetery, West Liberty.
