Amy Kathleen Skidmore, 94, formerly of Bellefontaine, passed away Wednesday afternoon, Sept. 12, 2018, at Green Hills Care Center, West Liberty.
She was born in New Hampshire, Ohio, to the late Horace Avery and Claribel H. Huber Neer. She married DeWeese Loder Skidmore on Aug. 15, 1945, in Bellefontaine, and he preceded her in death on Sept. 24, 1979.
She was also preceded in death by a son, Steven L. Skidmore; a great-grandson, Avery Camden LeVan; two sisters, Floy Sharp and Jean Harmon; and a brother Neil Neer.
Amy was a life member of Bellefontaine First United Methodist Church, where she did volunteer work and was a member of the church circle, the Aim Well Sunday School class and was a cofounder of its Warm Clothes Program. While her husband DeWeese served as Logan County Sheriff, she worked as the matron of the Logan County Jail. She was also a member of the Logan County Farm Bureau.
Amy is survived by son, Timothy D. (Kathleen) Skidmore of Bellefontaine; a daughter-in-law, Dottie Skidmore of Bellefontaine; three grandchildren, Amy Elizabeth (Dean) LeVan, Cory (Barb) Skidmore and Aryelle (Charles) Howe; and four greatgrandchildren, Sophia and Flynn Skidmore and Chloe and Carter Howe.
Pastor Ben Shaeffer officiates a graveside service at 2:30 p.m. Monday, Sept. 17, in Fairview Cemetery, West Liberty, through arrangements by Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home &
