Jessica McGoldrick, 42 of Round Rock, Texas, was lodged Friday in the Logan County Jail on stalking-related charges following a traffic stop initiated around 4 p.m. along U.S. Route 33 in Russells Point.
Officers of the Russells Point Police Department received distressed call from the alleged victim who stated that her, “stalker was following her.” The victim reported that her stalker, later identified as McGoldrick, had also tried to run her off the road in the area of U.S. 33 and State Route 720.
Officers conducted a traffic stop of both vehicles on U.S. 33 near State Route 708, and law enforcement reports the caller was extremely upset and could barely communicate with officers for several minutes.
Officers made contact with the suspect, McGoldrick, who stated the caller was her wife and she was following her to Wal-Mart to exchange a vehicle.
Officers eventually determined the caller had fled from South Carolina to distance herself from the suspect. McGoldrick reportedly to Ohio, rented a vehicle and began following the caller when she left her residence in Bellefontaine, attempting to disguise her appearance with a hooded sweatshirt and sunglasses.
McGoldrick admitted to officers she was following the caller, stating she was just trying to get her vehicle back.
A third party acquaintance of the caller — in a separate vehicle — reportedly made several attempts to put her vehicle between McGoldrick and the caller so she could escape.
The caller told officers she is afraid McGoldrick will try to kill her.
McGoldrick was charged with menacing by stalking and domestic violence. Her rental vehicle was towed from the scene to the Russells Point Police Impound.
Washington Township Police assisted at the scene.
