Justin E. White, 30, of Bellefontaine, avoided injuries Saturday when he rode an all-terrain vehicle into the path of a northbound car on Plumvalley Street at Johns Avenue.
White was cited for failure to control.
Officers of the Bellefontaine Police Department report he also was northbound along the road before traveling into the path of the car operated by James H. Metz, 60, of Bellefontaine.
Damage was light to the vehicles.
Several face intoxication charges
William D. Barrett, 37, of Columbus, and Trevor D. Thompson, 22, of Kennedale, Texas, each was arrested Saturday for public intoxication.
Both received earlier warning not to attempt walking to their lodgings when they were found intoxicated outside the Beer Vault, 149 W. Columbus Ave.
A man offered to give them a ride while officers were outside the Beer Vault, but the duo did not follow through after officers left.
At 2:40 a.m., they were observed stumbling as they walked along the 800 block of north Main Street.
Both were lodged in the Logan County Jail.
• Jason A. Vanscoy, 46, of Findlay, was arrested Friday for public intoxication.
A witness reported spotting the man stumbling along Main Street near Rush Avenue around 6:15 a.m. Officers located him as he was southbound crossing Sandusky Avenue.
Officers report he was suspect in a 2:40 a.m. crash and found keys to a Ford Mustang that was left at the scene in the 800 block of north Main Street.
He declined to answer questions and requested to speak to a lawyer. He was taken into custody for public intoxication and lodged in jail.
Officers noted in reports that he was unsteady on his feet and staggered as he walked. They also detected a strong odor of alcohol while talking with him.
Officers investigate package theft
On Sunday, Davi Stoltzfus, 504 N. Detroit St., provided officers with surveillance footage showing a man walk up to residence and remove a delivered package from the front porch at 4:45 p.m. June 17.
Warrants served
Officers served warrants to:
• Christian M.A. Irving, 34, at large: failure to appear; and
• Joseph Harrington, 24, of 420 E. Columbus Ave.: failure to appear.
