Albert John Kessler, 90, of Bellefontaine, passed away at 12:40 a.m. Friday, Jan. 19, 2018, at Logan Acres Care Center. He was born in Dayton on July 2, 1927, to the late Albert Anthony Arthur and Catherine Elizabeth Lengerich Kessler.
On April 3, 1976, he married Roberta Jean Reed and she preceded him in death Jan. 4, 2012. Albert was also preceded in death by his sister and brother-in-law, Rosemary and Jack Ivory.
He is survived by his nieces and nephews, Diane, Tom, David, Karen, Beverly, Mick, Jerry, Charlie and Ann.
Albert was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served in World War II and Korea. He was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Bellefontaine, the Bellefontaine V.F.W., where he was a past commander, and also was a member of the Logan County Honor Guard, the American Legion and the Lakeview Moose.
Father Shawn Landenwitch officiates a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 23, at the St. Patrick Catholic Church, 328 E. Patterson Ave., Bellefontaine. Visitation is from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 23, at Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 321 N. Main St., Bellefontaine. Burial is in Bellefontaine Cemetery with military rites provided by the Logan County Veterans Honor Guard.
