Alan Jay “AJ” Baker, 34, of Mount Victory, passed away at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, November 25, 2021, in OhioHealth Marion General Hospital, Marion, OH.
He was born in Bellefontaine on August 25, 1987, the son of the late Dean Alan Baker, who passed away just 40 minutes after AJ, and Teresa (Purtee) Baker, who survives.
In addition to his mother, he is also survived by four aunts; Bev (Purtee) Kemmere, Beverly (Eddie) Williams, Nancy (Tim) Colchin, and Vicki (Greg) Street, seven uncles; Dale Baker, Jim (Becky) Purtee, Mike (Rosemary) Purtee, Jerry Purtee, Ronnie (Tammy) Purtee, Bill (Thelma) Purtee, and Tim (Jo) Purtee.
AJ graduate from West Liberty Salem High School and worked as a custodian at Cummins Facility Services. He enjoyed Bible audio, watching football and basketball games, playing video games, playing with his kitties, and spending time with his family.
Pastor Bryan Meadows will officiate a funeral service for AJ and for his father, Dean, on Saturday, December 4, at 2 p.m. in the Daring & Sanford Funeral Home, 210 W. Hayes Street, De Graff, OH 43318. Visitation will be one hour prior to the funeral at the funeral home on Saturday and burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery, Quincy. A time of food and fellowship will follow the committal service at the Quincy Fire Department, and all are invited.
