Austin M. Alexander, 15, of 10698 N. State Route 235, Lot 13, Belle Center, was charged with falsification related to an incident Friday, deputies of the Logan County Sheriff’s Office report.
Officers of the Washington Township Police Department also arrested Billy Lahr, 15, of Lakeview and a 12-year-old Lakeview boy, related to an Indian Lake Schools bus incident, as reported in Monday’s Examiner. Billy was charged with using tobacco as a minor and disorderly conduct, and the younger youth was charged with inducing panic and disorderly conduct after live ammunition reportedly was found on his person.
ILHS officials reportedly detained Billy and the 12-year-old following the bus incident that morning before the two students went onto second busses for transportation to Mac-A-Cheek Learning Center in Bellefontaine and Transition Academy in West Liberty.
While interviewing students, deputies spoke with Austin after the 12-year-old said he received the ammunition from Austin. The 15-year-old initially denied the accusation, and then admitted he’d given ammunition to the 12-year-old. Austin was transported to the Logan County Juvenile Detention Center.
During an interview with Austin’s mother, she said she was unsure how her son gained access to the ammunition, and stated that the family did not have any firearms in the home.
