Maria L. Jones, 42, of Lakeview, was charged with OVI and was cited for driving under suspension related to an incident that began at a Indian Lake area restaurant Thursday evening.
Officers of the Russells Point Police Department were dispatched to Subway, 204 Lincoln Blvd., Russells Point, shortly before 6 p.m. on a report of a suspicious person.
A caller told dispatchers a woman was wobbling around the parking lot and trying to talk with customers, which made them uncomfortable.
The caller provided a description of the vehicle before it left on U.S. Route 33.
While responding to the area, officers located the vehicle traveling westbound on U.S. 33 near Clermont Street and watched as it traveled left of the center line.
When officers attempted to initiate a traffic stop, the vehicle continued until it reached U.S. 33 and west Wilgus Drive, where it finally stopped.
The driver was identified as Jones and officers immediately observed signs of impairment.
She admitted to drinking, but refused to submit to field sobriety tests. She was placed under arrest and transported to the Logan County Jail, where she provided a urine sample for testing.
The defendant has four previous OVIs convictions dating as recently as 2015.
