Interest in Columbus’ smart city initiative which will include an autonomous highway along U.S. Route 33 to East Liberty continues to grow, Logan County Community Improvement Corporation head Paul Benedetti told city leaders Tuesday.
“It’s important we continue to build our relationship with Columbus 2020 and the Council of Governments that is part of the planning,” he told Bellefontaine City Council members. “We need to pay attention to what is happening with the smart mobility research that will take place along the 33 corridor.
“We don’t want to be left behind. This is probably the most significant development for our area since TRC and Honda came here.”
