The Logan Housing Corporation Nonprofit Organization will dissolve effective July 1.
The corporation was established in December 1992 to oversee and manage homes for individuals with developmental disabilities. The first home was purchased in February 1993.
Originally, the Ohio Department of Developmental Disabilities provided 75 percent of the funding for home purchases, and later provided funding for accessibility projects and home renovations.
“Staff at the county board of DD have assisted with the day-to-day management and oversight of Logan Housing,” said Karen Hesson Brady, who has helped oversee the corporation on behalf of the Logan County Board of DD for several years.
“We came to the decision to step out of this role,” she said. “Residential Administrators, directed by John Brown, manages the properties for our local Mental Health Board, so they seemed to be the ideal choice to take over.”
After completion of proper paperwork, the properties have been transferred to RA and the remaining assets to the Logan County Board of DD Foundation for future housing projects and needs.
Emily Krieger is a charter corporation board member. Other members include Scott Abraham, who joined in 1993, Steve Carnes, Joe Roberts, Tim O’Rielley and Tony Core. Among gifts of appreciation presented to the corporation members by Ms. Brady were house-shaped cutting boards.
