Bellefontaine’s girls basketball team could not duplicate the success Saturday it had against Springfield Shawnee in an earlier meeting this season.

The Chiefs, who beat the Braves 44-37 on Dec. 7, struggled offensively throughout in the rematch en route to a 40-35 loss in a Central Buckeye Conference game.
Bellefontaine drops to 6-9 overall and 4-3 in the CBC. Shawnee improves to 6-10, 4-4.
It was a tough shooting night for the Chiefs, who made just 28 percent of their attempts from the field.
“We didn’t shoot the ball well and to Shawnee’s credit, they did a nice job defensively taking away certain options and controlling the defensive boards,” said Bellefontaine head coach Henry Stolly.
