Aaron Hobart, 35, of 206 Fairview Ave., Russells Point, and Raella Helms, 41, of 8890 Township Road 239, Lakeview, each was arrested Monday evening following a dispute in Mr. Hobart’s neighborhood.
Deputies of the Logan County Sheriff’s Office responded about 11:30 p.m. to 214 Fairview Ave., Russells Point, to speak with resident Donald E. Hicks, 36.
Mr. Hicks and several other witnesses reported observing several individuals throwing firecrackers outside, and the group was asked to quiet down because a child was trying to sleep.
They said a woman who was part of the group, later identified as Ms. Helms, became angry and allegedly broke Mr. Hicks’ porch window.
Later while deputies were speaking with Mr. Hicks, they reportedly observed Ms. Helms make an obscene gesture through a porch window.
Deputies went to Mr. Hobart’s address to speak with the individuals, who were in the backyard having a campfire. Ms. Helms was placed under arrest for criminal damaging and disorderly conduct. While she was being arrested, Mr. Hobart reportedly began making threatening comments toward Mr. Hicks.
Mr. Hobart was charged with persistent disorderly conduct, and the pair was transported to the Logan County Jail.
