Bellefontaine’s boys track and field team proved it belonged among Southwest Ohio’s best teams Friday in the Division I district meet at Wayne High School.
The Chiefs and advanced several athletes to next week’s regional meet at the University of Dayton.
The top four placers in each event advanced to the regionals.
Wayne won the Division I boys district meet with 96 points, Northmont came in second with 83 points, Troy was third with 78 points, Trotwood-Madison finished fourth with 76.5 points and Bellefontaine was fifth with 62.5 points.
“We had a very solid showing and had some great performances from our sprint crew,” said BHS head coach Ben Davis. “We were very, very pleased with how things unfolded for us at the district meet. We had a lot of first-year track runners get great Division I district meet experience.”
