Northeastern’s baseball team scored a run in the bottom of the seventh to gut out a 5-4 win over visiting West Liberty-Salem Wednesday in Ohio Heritage Conference play.
The Tigers drop to 9-8 overall and 6-5 in the OHC.
WL-Salem drove in two runs in the first inning for an early 2-0 lead. Northeastern came back to score one run in the third inning and one run in the fourth inning to tie the game 2-2.
The Tigers added another run in the top of the fifth inning, but the Jets plated two runs in the bottom of the fifth to take a 4-3 lead.
WL-Salem tied the game 4-4 with a run in the top of the seventh inning. But Northeastern pulled back in front with a run in the bottom of the seventh inning to win the game.
