Lima-area resident Matthew Huffman defeated opponent John Adams of Sidney in a race Tuesday to replace Sen. Keith Faber as the representative to Ohio’s 12th state senate district.
Mr. Huffman ran up big margins in his home Allen County and led 42,737 to 24,408 late Tuesday night, according to the Ohio Secretary of State’s Office.
In Logan County, Mr. Huffman defeated Mr. Adams 4,512 to 3,379. His biggest margin of victory was in Allen County, where Mr. Huffman amassed 16,040 votes to 3,599 for Mr. Adams.
Mr. Huffman is a former president of the Lima City Council. He also served four terms representing the 84th district in the Ohio House of Representatives and is a sponsor of a resolution in the Ohio House of Representatives calling for a convention of states to propose a balanced budget amendment.
