There remains no timeline as to when the Indian Lake EMS Joint Ambulance District will be able financially to sign off on work to complete the unfinished construction of a new building.
Still, much of a rescheduled regular meeting Tuesday focused on putting in place a spending plan that can absorb a new loan payment.
Joanna Pittenger, EMS district chief, is actively working with lending officers at Osgood Bank to secure the funding necessary to finish the project. A note she left for the EMS board Tuesday indicated she had provided all the information requested by the bank.
Previously, the board had considered asking the four local municipalities served by the EMS district to cosign for a loan to finish the job. Upon consulting with the Logan County Prosecutor’s Office, however, board members have since learned that the local governments are not legally permitted to cosign for a loan that way, and any arrangement would require bonds to be issued.
