Officers of the Russells Point Police Department report a Lakeview man was charged Thursday with a felony count of vandalism.
Jon Pringle, 48, was placed under arrest and lodged in the Logan County Jail after an incident that began about 9:30 p.m.
An officer of the Washington Township Police Officer on patrol in the 500 block of west Main Street spotted a man on a bicycle who matched the description of the person who has recently vandalized multiple business windows in the Russells Point, Washington Township and Stokes Township area.
The officer lost sight of the male, but soon found his bicycle abandoned in the area of Westview and Lind Streets.
Multiple officers from Russells Point, the Logan County Sheriff’s Office, and Ohio Department of Natural Resources converged on the area and established a perimeter.
Pringle was located by a Russells Point officer running from the area on the bike path near Township 239 and State Route 366. Officers said he had briars stuck to his clothing, cuts on his arms and was sweating profusely
The defendant was detained for investigative purposes. It was determined Pringle’s bicycle and clothing matched that of the suspect from multiple surveillance videos from vandalized businesses.
Officers continue their investigation, and additional charges are pending.
