Benjamin Logan’s varsity volleyball team kept its perfect record intact Tuesday with a three-set win over visiting Indian Lake in a Central Buckeye Conference match.
The Raiders prevailed by scores of 25-21, 25-12, 25-21.
Ben Logan is now 8-0 overall and 1-0 in the league, while the Lakers fall to 3-4, 0-1.
Mia Stahler recorded a team-high 31 digs and had five points with one ace to help fuel the Ben Logan victory.
Georgia Bates tallied seven digs, Lynzee Cronkleton dished out 17 assists and had seven digs, Brielle Moorhouse had 11 assists, six points and four aces, Makenna LeVan recorded 11 kills and six blocks, Ryelle Gibson tallied seven kills and eight digs, Kyndal Cronkleton tallied five kills, Lily Makin chipped in four kills and three blocks and Lily Blackburn added four kills, 17 points, two aces and three blocks.
The junior varsity Raiders won 25-10, 25-19. MaKayla Williamson had eight kills and two aces for Ben Logan, Brooks Myers tallied 11 digs, five points and three aces, Elliott Bailey had five points, one ace, two kills and three blocks, Madelyn Harmon dished out seven assists and had five points, Lexi Archer had five assists and three points with one ace and two kills, Skylar Miracle had two blocks and Lexi Sutherly served for seven points and added an ace.
For the Lakers, Halle Roby was 38-39 setting and had three kills and seven digs, Kendall Cotterman was 16-17 on serves received, was 6-6 serving and had 14 digs, Stephanie Altstaetter had four kills and 10 digs and Katie Roby was 9-9 serving with 24 digs.
For Indian Lake’s JV team, Kenzie Dixon had two kills and was 6-7 serving with two aces, Devin Rice was 4-5 hitting with one kill and Adeline Robinson was 5-5 hitting with one ace.
Both teams are back in action Thursday. The Raiders travel to North Union and the Lakers host Northwestern.
Riverside bounces Troy Christian
Riverside cruised past Troy Christian 27-25, 25-17, 26-24 on Tuesday in Three Rivers Conference volleyball action.
The Pirates are now 4-3 overall and 3-0 in the TRC.
Sasha Stotler led the attack for the Pirates with 11 kills and she added three aces.
Also for Riverside in the win, Jenna Woods put up 10 kills, two blocks, 16 digs and led in serves received, Alaina Snow had eight digs and 26 assists, Jade Copas tallied five kills, nine digs and went 14-14 serving and Trinity Notestine had 11 digs.
Riverside’s junior varsity team won 25-20, 25-23. Avery Perk had 10 assists and six digs, Keianna Notestine tallied six kills and Aubree Huston had nine digs for the Pirates.
Chiefs blank Tecumseh
Bellefontaine’s volleyball team grabbed a three-set win over Tecumseh on Tuesday in Central Buckeye Conference action.
The Chiefs won by scores of 25-21, 25-17, 25-17.
Julia Nelson sparked the Chiefs with six kills, Katie Pool and Emily Lamb both had five kills, Lily Palmer tallied 14 assists with one kill, Olivia Ullom tallied three kills, Tiffany Boop had one kill and Latoya Rogan added 12 digs and four aces.
In the junior varsity match, Bellefontaine won 25-17, 25-15. Ashlyn Akers led the offense for the Chiefs, Grace Barrett had a strong blocking game and Kenzie Flora led the defense.
Calvary Christian drops match
Calvary Christian’s varsity volleyball team was defeated by the Ohio Eagles 20-25, 25-12, 25-18, 25-16 on Tuesday.
The Spartans are now 4-6 on the season.
Emma Patton had eight assists, Jayla Wilson had two assists, Abby Jenkins tallied seven aces, six digs and seven kills and Erin Young had six kills for the Spartans.
Triad loses to West Jefferson
Triad’s varsity volleyball team lost at West Jefferson in three sets on Tuesday.
The Roughriders won 25-21, 25-8, 25-23.
In the junior varsity match, WJ won 25-19, 25-9.
