Christopher J. Dumont, 36, of 14137 Rosewood Ave., Lakeview, was charged with assault and was served with a warrant during an incident Monday evening.
Deputies of the Logan County Sheriff’s Office and an Ohio Department of Natural Resources officer responded to his address about 9:25 p.m. for a domestic violence complaint. Deputies were advised that the male suspect, Dumont, had an active warrant for domestic violence involving the same victim and were cautioned that he could be armed and dangerous.
Deputies located the female victim outside, who advised deputies they could enter the home through a window. Deputies made entry into the home and then they said Dumont began resisting arrest. Deputies were able to handcuff the defendant, but they said he continued his combative behavior.
While deputies were attempting to escort Dumont outside, he reportedly made a sudden jerking motion that pulled at one of the deputy’s right arm and shoulder. The deputy’s shoulder was injured during the incident and he was treated at Mary Rutan Hospital for the injury.
The defendant complained of a possible broken toe and Huntsville EMS personnel found that one of his toes was swollen. His toe was wrapped and he was cleared for transport to the Logan County Jail.
Deputies were able to speak more to the victim, who said she did not want to press charges, but allowed deputies to photograph a bruise on her face.
Dumont was lodged in the jail, and a report has been forwarded to the Logan County Prosecutor’s Office for possible charges of domestic violence and resisting arrest.
