Indian Lake’s baseball team picked up another impressive win Tuesday, knowing off host Jonathan Alder 2-1 in a Central Buckeye Conference baseball game.
The Lakers are now 9-1 overall and 5-0 in the CBC. The Pioneers drop to 6-3, 3-2.
Gavin Lones turned in a stellar outing on the mound for the Lakers. He went six innings, gave up four hits, three walks and struck out 10. Caleb Wurster worked a scoreless seventh inning to get the save.
Both teams scored a run in the first inning and the score stayed deadlocked at 1-1 until the Lakers pushed across a run in the to of the seventh.
Luke Jackson and Cayden Whitman each had an RBI and Wurster collected a pair of hits to lead the Lakers at the plate. Indian Lake is back in action today at home against Graham.

Raiders bounce back with win over Arrows
Benjamin Logan answered its first loss of the season Monday with a resounding 11-1 six-inning win over host Tecumseh on Tuesday in Central Buckeye Conference baseball action The Raiders are now 9-1 overall and 4-1 in the CBC. Tecumseh drops to 5-3, 3-2.
Ben Logan got off to a quick start with four runs in the top of the first inning. The Arrows scored their lone run in the bottom of the first.
The Raiders scored four more times in the third inning for an 8-1 lead and they finished off the game with a three-run sixth inning.
Blake Peterson and Carter Rees combined for a one-hitter on the mound for the Raiders. Peterson struck out four and allowed one hit in four innings and Rees struck out five in two hitless innings. Rees also had a good day at the plate, going 2-4 with two doubles and two RBI.
Also for Ben Logan’s offense, Trey Allen went 3-4 with one RBI, Brady Burrey went 2-4 with a double and one RBI, Kainan Stoner had a double and two RBI, Kade Arn went 2-3 with a double and two RBI, Tanner Perkons had one RBI and Peterson went 2-3 with an RBI. Ben Logan is back in action today at home agains Northwestern.

Tigers turn back Eagles
West Liberty-Salem slipped past host Madison Plains 3-1 in an Ohio Heritage Conference baseball game Tuesday.
The Tigers improve to 4-4 overall and 4-1 in the OHC. The Eagles fall to 3-4, 1-4. WL-Salem did all of its damage in the fourth inning with three runs. Madison Plains scored its lone run in the sixth.
Will Motzko earned the complete-game win on the mound for the Tigers. He scattered six hits, struck out four and walked one.
Austin Olejniczak went 2-3, Nick Burden went 2-3, Adam LaRoche had two RBI and Jamison Legge added a double. The Tigers return to action Friday at home against Southeastern.
