Bellefontaine’s boys track and field team ran away with a first-place finish at a home quad-meet on Monday against North Union, Kenton Ridge and Calvary Christian.
The Chieftain boys won 13 of 17 events on their way to scoring 151 points. The Wildcats were runner-up with 46 points, the Cougars were third with 30 points and the Spartans came in fourth with 22 points.
Kenton Ridge won the girls meet with 104 points, North Union edged Bellefontaine 57-55 to take second and the Spartans were fourth with 20 points.
Winning events for Bellefontaine’s boys were Harper Scott in the 100 (11.4) and 200 (24.1), Ethan Yoder in the pole vault (13-0) and long jump (20-3), Micah Fogan in the shot put (50-2) and discus (138-1), Max Varner in the 400 (55.05), Justin Carper in the 800 (2:12.0), Connor Skidmore in the 1,600 (4:46.6), Jaquan Mundy in the 300 hurdles (45.08), the 400 relay of Kailyn Organ, Yoder, Evan Baker and Scott (46.06), the 800 relay of Organ, Scott, Baker and Varner (1:35.6) and the 1,600 relay of Gavin Wilson, Carper, Skidmore and Marco Martinez (3:57.5).
Runner-up finishes came from Organ in the 100 (11.5), Baker in the 200 (24.3), Martinez in the 400 (59.01), Wilson in the 1,600 (4:52.04), Tony Stewart in the 3,200 (10:56.7), Carter Snapp in the high jump (5-8), Carper in the pole vault (9-6) and the 3,200 relay of Ollie Moreland, Martinez, Cooper Harman and Aaron Roy (11:12.2).
Finishing in third were Patrick Donnelly in the 3,200 (11:42.7), Micah Woolf in the 110 hurdles (18.4), James Holt in the 300 hurdles (47.4), Sullivan Ashcraft in the pole vault (9-6), Snapp in the long jump (18-5), Ethan Akers in the discus (108-10), the 400 relay of Wesley Morris, Jacob Engroff-Meyer, Ethan Orahood and Vansh Patel (51.3) and the 800 relay of Mundy, Engroff-Meyer, Holt and Patel (1:44.6).
Placing fourth were Baker in the 100 (11.8), Varner in the 200 (24.7), Stewart in the 1,600 (5:02.2), Ollie Moreland in the 3,200 (12:20.5), Mundy in the 110 hurdles (18.7), Organ in the high jump (5-0), Lincoln Howell in the shot put (38-4.5) and Ashcraft in the discus (103-9).
Earning first-place finishes for the Chieftain girls were Ella Reier in the 400 (1:13.5), Ashlyn Gonterman in the pole vault (7-0) and Katie Pool in the shot put (31-7).
Placing second were Emma Middaugh in the 800 (2:54.7), Azlyn Bechtel in the pole vault (6-6), Aubrey Hudson in the discus (98-2) and the 3,200 relay of Middaugh, Zoey Rister, Reier and Montanna Buck (11:51.5).
Taking third were Buck in the 1,600 (6:23.7) and 3,200 (14:52.6), Pool in the discus (98-1) and the 1,600 relay of Reier, Middaugh, Gonterman and Taylor McCafferty (5:13.9).

oming in fourth were Carmen Shumaker in the shot put (29-0.5) and discus (95-0), Maggie Howard in the long jump (13-6), Jocelyn Robinson in the 100 hurdles (19.7) and Gonterman in the high jump (4-4). Adding a fifth-place effort was Rister in the 3,200 (16:18.4).
Calvary Christian’s boys were led by Isaac Reinhard with runner-up finishes in the discus (124-2) and long jump (18-10) and a third-place finishes in the 100 (11.7) and shot put (44-8.5).
Also placing third was Caleb King in the high jump (5-8) with fourth-place finishes coming from Clay Howard in the 400 (1:01.4) and Ephraim Daniels in the 800 (2:36.2).
Taking fifth was King in the long jump (17-2) with sixth-place efforts coming from Daniels in the high jump (5-0) and Ethan Shepherd in the 3,200 (12:41.2).
The Spartan girls were sparked by second-place finishes from Lexi Reames in the 1,600 (6:23.2) and the 400 relay of Chloe Prall, Abigail Reinhard, Hailey Howard and Anastacia Rogan (time not available).
Finishing third were Reinhard in the 100 hurdles (19.3), Ruby Slemmons in the 800 (2:57.3) and the 800 relay of Prall, Grace King, Karlie Penhorwood and Anna Kratz (2:23.3).
Coming in fourth were Rogan in the 100 (14.4), Reinhard in the 300 hurdles (55.6) and Madhuri Cook in the 3,200 (15.3).
Adding fifth-place efforts were Rogan in the 400 (1:18.0) and Cook in the 800 (3:03.3), while Howard added sixth-place efforts in the 100 hurdles (21.2) and 300 hurdles (58.1).
Bellefontaine hosts the Chieftain Relays on Friday.
