John Edwin Bush, 97, died March 4, 2021, in The Homestead at Logan Acres. He was born Oct. 26, 1923, to Banner Harrison Bush and Esta (Neer) Bush.
He graduated in 1943 from DeGraff High School. He married Mildred A. Rex on Sept. 9, 1945, in Bellefontaine at the First United Methodist Church. He was a member of Gretna Brethren Church and transferred to the First United Methodist Church in Bellefontaine after marriage.
John is survived by his wife of 75 years, sons Robert D (Michele) of Charleston, S.C., Ronald L (Catherine) of Louisville, Ky., and daughter-in-law Ann L. Bush of Bellefontaine; six grandchildren, Julie (Joe) Chute, Matthew (Julie) Bush, Ryan Bush, Kristen (Mark) Brown, Kathy Higdon, and Aaron Bush; eight great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his son Larry Alan Bush, his parents and sister Clara (Raymond) Weeks.
John worked for many years for Frantz Brothers in Sidney, Ohio, doing road and bridge construction. John enjoyed golfing and traveling with their RV.
The family thanks The Homestead at Logan Acres for their loving care of John the last three years, and Universal Hospice for making his last days more comfortable.
The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 10, at the Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 321 N. Main Street in Bellefontaine, where Pastor Joe Ziraldo will officiate a funeral service at 2 p.m. Burial will follow in Bellefontaine Cemetery in Bellefontaine.
