A milestone moment in the history of a local landmark happened just a week before the Logan County Art League kicked off its first “not So Bad Art by Good People” fundraiser.

So when Judge Michael L. Brady was asked to take part in the event that features local “celebrities” trying their hands at artistic endeavors, he knew exactly what he wanted to paint.
“I started as an assistant county prosecutor in Logan County and I thought I about lived in the courthouse until I took office in February 1991,” the retired Logan County Family Court judge said. “Then I lived there for real until the storm of June 29, 2012.”
The storm not only structurally damaged the prominent tower of the Logan County Courthouse and displaced staff, but also left the fate of the landmark constructed in 1870 in jeopardy, Judge Brady said.
“Those of us that were concerned with the history of the courthouse were concerned about what would happen. We were all proud about the elected officials coming together to restore the courthouse and I felt so good about seeing the courthouse coming back together.”
