Mary M. Pash, 81, of Bellefontaine, left this earth Saturday, Jan. 23, 2016, at Kobacker House, Columbus.
She was born in Mechanicsburg on Dec. 1, 1934, to the late Clyde B. and Florence Johnson. She also was preceded in death by her husbands, Glenn E. Pash, in 2002, and Daniel E. Hylton, in 1970; and her brother, Benjamin Johnson, in 1994.
Mary was a 1952 graduate of Zanesfield Monroe High School and graduated from Columbus Business College in 1953. She worked for Ohio Dominican University until 1970.
She and her children moved to Bellefontaine, where she worked at the board of education for Bellefontaine City Schools as executive secretary to the business manager. After 35 years of service, she retired and was able to enjoy frequent trips with her senior group. Mary was an active member of the First Church of God, where she often volunteered her services for various activities. She was a longtime member of Bonafada Circle of King’s Daughters and served as treasurer.
She was involved with the restoration of the Holland Theatre, as well as working during multiple variety shows. A member of the Logan County Historical Society, she donated many items from her passionate doll collection.
She was a member of the Ohio Hens lunch group, traveling to many places throughout the years, where they enjoyed eating, laughing and each other’s company. Mary often provided smiles to everyone she encountered and will be greatly missed by family and friends.
She is survived by her children, Aric Hylton, Suzanne Hylton and Kathy (Jeff) Fitzgerald; stepdaughter, Glenna (Ron) Artherton; stepson, John Klaas; sister, Martha (Gene) Fout; grandchildren, Kim, Andrew, Danielle, Chelsea, Max, Jennifer, Brad, Amber, Josh and Matt; great-grandchildren, AJ, Carder, Andrew, Ashlyn, Austyn, Muriel, Bradley, Shawn, Hailee, Ian, Nicolas, Joshua, Nathan, Ethan and Noah; great-great-grandchildren, Allyson and Aubree; and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service is at noon Friday, Feb. 5, at the Bellefontaine First Church of God, 1000 E. Brown Ave., with visitation two hours prior.
