Logan County experienced its first snowfall of the season Monday into Tuesday morning, and the snow added to the Christmas decor on the fountain by the Logan County Courthouse Tuesday morning as traffic passed through the downtown area. All area school districts closed for the day Tuesday following the approximately 4 inches of snow that fell in Bellefontaine during the 24-hour period, according to the Bellefontaine Waste Water Treatment Plant. Logan County Sheriff Randy Dodds declared a level one snow emergency Monday evening as well. In the downtown area Friday, First Fridays Bellefontaine hosts a socially distanced evening of Christmas activities, with D.J. Joe Pine entertaining at the courthouse fountain. Flying Pepper food truck will be set up next to the courthouse on Columbus Avenue starting at 4 p.m., and a DORA will be active from 4 to 8 p.m. Santa Claus also will visit area children at the Citizen’s Federal drive thru from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday. Children can send their wish list though the tube system and receive a special Christmas treat, which may contain a golden ticket redeemable for a prize at a downtown businesses.
