Nearly $20,000 cash and multiple suspected drugs were recovered from a traffic stop executed around 4:30 p.m. Friday in Washington Township.
Officers of the Washington Township Police Department observed a vehicle operated by Anthony Crites, 36, of Elida, with a cracked windshiled, obstructing the driver’s view, and initiiated the stop.
Upon making contact with the driver, officers detected an odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle. Crites was asked to step out of his vehicle, and he reportedly admitted to having marijuana inside the vehicle.
A search of the car revealed 13 grams of psychedelic mushrooms and $19,620 in cash in a multi-colored backpack. In the same bag, officers also recovered a brown, wooden box contained marijuana gummies, a marijuana grinder and rolling papers.
Crites was charged with felony possession of drugs, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of marijuana. Additional charges are pending.
