Kelly J. Kaeck, 54, of 316 W. Miami St., Apt. 2, DeGraff, was charged with possession of drugs Tuesday after deputies of the Logan County Sheriff’s Office assisted Adult Parole Authority officers with serving her with outstanding warrants and a charge of violating the terms of her probation.
Deputies and Adult Parole Authority officers responded to the residence about 10:10 a.m. and reportedly knocked at the doors of the residence for about 30 minutes before Kaeck’s husband exited the home.
Kaeck was located at the residence, and deputies and officers searched for contraband at the home, locating three fabricated smoking devices, along with straws and a plate with suspected methamphetamine residue.
In addition, they found a pill bottle without a label and a rifle and ammunition underneath her son’s bed, which was seized because it was not locked in a metal safe or vault, as required by the terms of her parole.
Authorities interviewed the defendant, who admitted to ingesting crystalized methamphetamine around midnight or 1 a.m. She was placed under arrest and transported to the Logan County Jail.
Driver cited in hit-skip crash
Ryan A. Conaway, 40, of Cridersville, was cited for leaving the scene of a crash and failure to control related to a crash early Sunday morning.
Deputies report he was operating a westbound car on State Route 273 near County Road 97 about 12:45 a.m. when he traveled off the right side of the road, striking a utility pole. Damage was heavy to the car.
Deputies said the driver was gone upon their arrival and a small amount of blood was located inside the vehicle. In addition, deputies located two unopened cans of an alcoholic beverage outside of the vehicle inside a bag.
BMRT, Richland Township Fire Department and the Bellefontaine Fire Department also assisted at the scene.
Later that day, Conaway told deputies that he lost his cell phone in the crash and he waited for someone to drive by, and then he walked to the Village Pantry to call for a ride. He told deputies he was not drinking alcohol on the night of the crash and also said he had not been injured.
