Bellefontaine’s volleyball team clawed its way to a five-set win over visiting Tecumseh on Tuesday 19-25, 25-15, 19-25, 25-21, 15-10 for a Central Buckeye Conference Kenton Trail division win.
The Chieftains bump their record to 3-4 on the season and 1-0 in the Kenton Trail division. The Arrows remain winless at 0-4, 0-1.
For the Chiefs, Sarah Starkey led the offense with eight kills, Katie Pool, Ari Nuńez, Cait Hutchins and Lily Palmer combined to add seven aces. Ari Nuńez added 34 digs and Latoya Rogan added 27 digs with three saves. Brielle Shultz added two kills with a block.
The junior varsity match saw BHS sweep Tecumseh in two sets.
Bellefontaine travels to Kenton Ridge on Thursday for its next CBC Kenton Trail match.

Calvary Christian’s volleyball team fell to the Ohio Eagles 25-8, 16-25, 26-24, 25-20 on Tuesday and move to 4-3 on the season.
Abby Jenkins led the Spartans with seven kills and 14 points, Emma Patton had four aces and seven assists, Jayla Wilson had four aces and nine digs, Elisha Carter had the best passing average and Lillian Zamora led the team in blocks.
In junior varsity action, Calvary Christian lost to the Ohio Eagles 21-25, 25-17, 25-15. Lucy Jarvis led the Spartans with five kills and 15 points, Julie Childers had the best passing average, Taylor Russell had six aces, while Madelyn Trittschuh and Ruby Slemmons each had nine digs and three assists.
Calvary Christian hosts Sidney Christian on Friday.
