Mason M. Diener, 22, of 500 Gunntown Road, Apt. D3, was charged Saturday with public intoxication, resisting arrest and persistent disorderly conduct.
Officers of the Bellefontaine Police Department were called to his residence around 11:15 p.m. and spoke to Katina Gerardo upon their arrival. She showed them inside so they could see damage from Diener’s alleged tantrum.
Gerardo told officers the suspect was extremely intoxicated and flew into a rage, head-butting a bathroom door and throwing items about a bedroom. Officers reported there were holes through the damaged door and the bedroom was in disarray.
Fearing for her safety, Gerardo asked an officer to remain at the apartment while she gathered items to leave for the night. With items in hand, she opened the rear door of her car to find Diener inside.
He was ordered out and began yelling at Gerardo. The suspect had multiple injuries to his face including scratches, cuts and swelling.
It took several officers to restrain him and handcuff him. He allegedly attempted to pull away from them and began kicking.
He was lodged in the Logan County Jail.
