Sheriff’s office staff collaborates to offer gifts to local family
Logan County Sheriff’s Office staff have worked together during the past month to make this Christmas a one to remember for a local family in need.
Logan County Sheriff Randy Dodds and Dispatcher Kayla Skidmore recently delivered an assortment of gifts and stockings for the family at 228 W. Brown St. Bellefontaine. Two boys at the home, William Jr., 10, and Spencer, 7, were excited for the surprise visit and the thoughtful gesture.
LCSO Community Events Coordinator Andrea Wrocklage and dispatchers coordinated the activities for the adoption of this family for Christmas.
The first event was a carry-in meal that took place Wednesday, Nov. 27, prior to Thanksgiving. Staff members were asked to donate a minimum of $5 to partake of the meal. The money that was raised was put into a fund to purchase the gifts.
Then Tuesday, Dec. 10, a second event — a bake sale — took place in the kitchenette area of dispatch featuring treats made by staff members. All employees were invited to browse and purchase goodies all throughout the day and night, with proceeds again benefiting the adopted family.
Also during the last several weeks, individuals also were encouraged individuals to donate gifts for the effort.
