A big second-quarter surge by visiting Kenton was too much for Benjamin Logan’s girls basketball team to overcome Saturday as the Wildcats held on for a 62-51 non-league victory.
The Raiders start the season at 0-1.
Ben Logan led 16-15 after the first quarter, but Kenton rallied with a 20-9 run. That put the Wildcats on top 35-25 at the break.
Kenton maintained a 10-point cushion (52-42) after three quarters and the Wildcats stayed in control in the final period.
Kayla Reeves sparked the Raiders’ efforts with 14 points, Lynzee Cronkleton tallied 11 points and Savannah Pavoni added seven points.
The junior varsity score was not available.
Ben Logan travels to Tecumseh on Wednesday for a Central Buckeye Conference contest.
