Logan County will be sending its biggest group yet to the state swim meet this weekend after six local swimmers qualified during Friday’s Southwest District meet at Miami University.

Advancing to the state meet, which is Thursday and Friday in Canton, were Indian Lake’s Skyler Tavenner, Benjamin Logan’s Macy Arn and Bellefontaine’s Amy Fulmer, Emily Fulmer, Shelby Starkey and Molly Schulz.
A senior, Tavenner is headed to the state meet for the third time for the Lakers. He finished second in the 50 freestyle (21.41) Friday and was sixth in the 100 backstroke (43.29) to move on in both events.
Tavenner is seeded eighth for the 50 freestyle and is seeded 13th in the 100 backstroke for the state meet.
Bellefontaine’s girls team qualified to state in two relays and in three individual events.
