A total of five local boys basketball players receives spots on the recently released all-Ohio Heritage Conference team.
West Liberty-Salem’s Nick Burden was the area’s lone first-team pick on the OHC North division squad.
Selected to the second team were WL-Salem’s Logan Saylor and Triad’s Ayden Spriggs, while honorable mention picks went to the Tigers’ Owen Johnson and the Cardinals’ Batai Lease.
Fairbanks’ Braylon Green took top honors in the OHC North division with player of the year honors.
Filling out the North division first team were Fairbanks’ Green, Mechanicsburg’s Kyle Smith, Northeastern’s Cole Allen and West Jefferson’s Tyler Oberle.
Making the second team were Fairbanks’ Wyatt Miller, West Jefferson’s M.J. Book and Mechanicsburg’s Tristan Hall.
Others receiving honorable mention selections were Northeastern’s Jake Nichols and Dale Bush, Fairbanks’ Carter Schultz and Mechanicsburg’s Hayden DeLong.
The OHC South division was headlined by Cedarville’s Trent Koning, who was named the player of the year.
Earning South division first-team honors were Cedarville’s Koning, Greeneview’s Cole Allen and Rhett Burtch, Springfield Catholic Centrals’ Tyler Galluch and Greenon’s Jayden Journell.
Landing on the second-team squad were Catholic Central’s Ashton Young and Ian Galluch, Madison Plains’ Adyn Gammel, Cedarville’s Isaiah Ramey and Greenon’s Mason Potter.
Receiving honorable mention picks were Greenon’s Clayton Minteer, Cedarville’s Payton Herron and Caleb McKinon, Southeastern’s Jacob Banion, Greeneview’s Carter Williams and Catholic Central’s Cole Ray.
