Deputies of the Logan County Sheriff’s Office report two drivers and two passengers were transported to Mary Rutan Hospital for treatment of injuries sustained in a crash Wednesday afternoon at the U.S. 33 entrance ramp from State Route 117.
Driver Victoria L. Carnes, 56, of Lakeview, and her 15-year-old passenger were transported by Huntsville EMS to the hospital for treatment of suspected serious injuries in the 5:30 p.m. crash.
The driver of the second vehicle, Danielle Foreman, 32, of Russells Point, was transported by private vehicle to the hospital for treatment of possible injuries. Her passenger, Karean L. Havens, 58, of Russells Point, was transported by Huntsville EMS to MRH for treatment of suspected serious injuries.
Deputies report Carnes was operating a westbound 2004 Chevrolet Silverado on S.R. 117 and stopped at the stop sign at the entrance ramp to U.S. 33. She then drove onto U.S. 33 and was struck by an eastbound 2017 Hyundai Santa Fe operated by Foreman.
Foreman and her passenger were wearing their seat belts. Seat belt use by Carnes and her passenger is being investigated by deputies.
Both vehicles sustained heavy damage and were towed from the scene. Deputies continue their crash investigation and no citations have yet been issued.
