One person was transported by MedFlight helicopter to the OSU Wexner Medical Center, and three people were transported by squads to Mary Rutan Hospital for non-incapacitating injuries sustained in a one-vehicle crash Friday evening on Township Road 127.
Passenger Carl Andrews, 21, of Delaware, was transported to the Columbus hospital. Driver Madecyn M. Kerns, 17, of Bellefontaine, and passengers Haley Miller, 14, of Bellefontaine, and Katlyn C. Pence, 17, of DeGraff, each was transported to Mary Rutan Hospital.
Deputies report Madecyn was operating a westbound car on T.R. 127 near County Road 5 when she drove off the right side of the road and then came back onto the road. Her car then went off the left side and overturned, struck a telephone pedestal and a fence. Damage to the car was heavy.
Deputies said Katlyn and Mr. Andrews were not wearing their seat belts. Several of the passengers admitted to consuming alcohol that was purchased by Mr. Andrews, but said Madecyn did not consume alcohol. A report was forwarded to the Logan County Prosecutor’s Office regarding possible charges.
Madecyn was cited for failure to control.
