More than 200 Logan County 4-H members who plan to exhibit livestock projects this summer completed their livestock project book evaluations June 15 at the Logan County Fairgrounds.
4-H representatives said the activities began at 1:30 p.m. and lasted close to 7:30 p.m. The 4-H youths were evaluated on their knowledge, understanding, and completion of their projects thus far.
A makeup date for those 4-H youths unable to attend the previous date is set for Wednesday, June 23, at the Logan County OSU Extension Office. Participants must complete project judging requirements for their projects to be marked complete.
At the June 15 event, 39 adult volunteers worked with the participants and the components of the judging included: labeling the parts of their animal, the completion of their project book, and answering questions about their species in an interview with a judge.
The 295 projects judged were given a grade of A, B or C.
“Many 4-H members were proud to show off their blue ribbons representing grade A’s on their projects and a job well done,” representatives said.
Non-livestock project judging will be conducted during two days — July 5 and 6 at the Logan County OSU Extension Office. Youths will be evaluated in similar fashion regarding the specifics of their chosen projects.
