Representatives from the Simon Kenton Pathfinders report 21st annual Pathfinders Bike Tour staged earlier this month in Champaign and Logan counties “was a a financial success and also had great turnout with 181 registered cyclists; 20 of them virtual riders. We had great weather, few glitches and the food trucks after were a great hit.” Cyclists enjoyed getting their photo taken at the butterfly mural at West Liberty trail head and the great “SAG stations.”
Pathfinders President Jim Cook said the group is especially grateful to the family of Betsy Bohl, a primary sponsor for the ride, along with all of the sponsors and donors. The Simon Kenton Pathfinders are an all-volunteer group, which has built and maintains the entire Simon Kenton Trail in both counties. “We receive no tax monies through a park system as do other bike trails in the area. We are totally funded by donations, grants and fundraising events such as this, our annual bike tour. Monies go to maintenance and improvements of the trail,” Cook said. (SUBMITTED PHOTOS)
